Tutorials

I shall go through various techniques that may be of use through my own tuition as well as from professionals in the industry.

Anatomy:

Simple Sketching and Values:

Here is a good for beginners and those wanting to get to grips with basic sketching and shading.

Hair:

Here's an effective video on how to draw hair in a fairly quick and painless way primarily using the smudge tool.

Colour and Layers:

This is a simple(ish) idea of how to apply colour using layers on your black and white drawing from  Dave Rapoza.  Although not an in depth study of how to paint a finished picture it gives a good idea of how to play with your picture to gain similar results.

Putting it all together:

Ok, theres lot to learn out there and sadly I can't teach you how to draw, all I can say is draw everyday, as often as you can. Doodle on scrap bits of paper and experiment with styles.  Experiment with your chosen art program with brushes and try learning from the best.  YouTube is full of videos to watch and learn from.  Here is a great example of of what you can pull off with a bit of knowledge lots of practice and skill.
